Respiro Magic: 25 Housed In Just One Month!

With a steady stream of people to serve, it is easy to lose sight of our accomplishments which is why we are deliberate in celebrating successes! This week we’re highlighting the Keys to Change staff at Respiro for the incredible positive outcomes in May.

The team guided clients staying in Respiro towards a phenomenal 25 positive exits in just one month. That’s 25 people who now have housing – who are no longer sleeping in congregate shelter, who have regained stability, who have ended their homelessness. It’s also 25 beds opened up for new clients to be safely indoors.

In this environment, with the housing market under so much strain – these 25 success stories are a testament to the grit, determination, and expertise of the team, as well as the resilience of those we serve. The compassion with which our staff carry out their day-to-day work knows no limits.

Congratulations Team Respiro, and thank you for all that you do! Keep up the amazing work!!

About Respiro: Respiro is a 95-bed shelter on Key Campus operated by Keys to Change named for the Spanish word meaning, “I breathe” or "Respite." The structure is a “Sprung Structure” and was erected in just 90 days in 2022. On the outside, it looks like an oversized tent. On the inside it’s a fully functioning co-ed emergency shelter space, with air conditioning, beds, showers, restrooms, storage, vending machines, and on-site housing navigation support from staff. And, service and emotional support animals are allowed!

Thank you!!
