Marking the 200th Birthday of Henry Ward Beecher
2013 commemorates the 200th birthday of Harriet Beecher Stowe's favorite brother, the minister and abolitionist Henry Ward Beecher. To mark the occasion, Stowe Center staff, trustees and friends explored Beecher resources and sites in New Haven including the Sterling Memorial Library, Grove Street Cemetery and New Haven Museum. The group enjoyed lunch at the home of Stowe Trustee and Beecher biographer Debby Applegate. What a way to celebrate 200!
