WELCOME JULY

A month named to honor Roman dictator Julius Caesar (100 BC- 44 BC).

July is host to two Days of Remembrance and Reflection. Take a moment to think about those who served and fought for our freedom.

July 4th - Fourth of July, or Independence Day, has been a federal holiday in the US since 1941, but the tradition of Independence Day goes back to the 18th century and the American Revolution.

July 27 - Korean War Armistice - 1953 - brought the fighting of the Korean War to an end.

Mark your calendar and plan to attend the following events:

July 4- Independence Day Ceremony at VMP

July 15- TCWV Monthly luncheon at Rohan Recreation Center

July 27 - Korean War Armistice Ceremony at VMP

July 27- Trivia Night and Silent Auction at AL 347

Aug 15 - Pampered Chef Kitchen Party - AL 18

Thank you for your service and friendship!

LOOKING FOR MILITARY/SERVICE THEMED ORNAMENTS!

TCWV will have an entry at the Annual Festival of Trees, Waterfront Inn, Lake Sumter Landing, in December 2024. In years past it has been a silent auction to raise money for Special Olympics Florida-Sumter County.

If you have a military or service themed ornament you would like to donate, or you find one on your summer travels, please bring it to the TCWV monthly membership meeting. We will have a box at the check in table and collect ornaments up to and including our October meeting.

If you would like, please put your name on the ornament and where/why you bought it. We can provide a "record" to go along with the tree.

Thank you!
