Volume 3 |  July 10 2017
  Hello cosplayers and cosplay appreciators!

Welcome back to everyone who signed up for the newsletter last month! To those of you who are joining us for the first time, welcome and I hope you enjoy!

My name is Ariana Shae and am working with Bobbi Lynn to make high quality costumes for you guys and make some fun stuff for you to see on here!

In addition to costumes, we also design and create fun clothing and outfits for everyday wear. Many of these are inspired by video games or shows, so they are perfect for showing off your interests with a subtler approach!

We would also love to feature a section in our newsletter with you! If you want to show off pictures in our costumes, please send them to us! Also, if you make any costumes yourself, we would love to see it!  Just email us the picture and state that you would like it featured in our upcoming newsletter. If it isn’t our costume, please also tell us who to give the credit for making it.

We focus on the sewing part of costumes, so any prop making you guys do to complement our costumes would be amazing to see.  Enjoy our newsletter and happy cosplaying!

In this month's letter, we have new products, a monthly pokemon cosplay, some upcoming events and a project for you!

Here are our new products for July
Dino Dress from The Flintstones
This dress is based on the pet dinosaur in the Flintstone family! This purple spotted dress closes in the back with an invisible zipper.
Pebbles from the Flintstones
We now have a Pebbles Flintstone costume available in our shop available in sizes from newborn to 3T.

Fred and Wilma costumes are also available, making this ideal for an adorable group costume.
Bamm-Bamm from the Flintstones
This Bamm-Bamm Rubble costume is now available in the shop! We also have Betty and Barney Rubble costumes in the shop for the parents of this little one.

The costume comes as shown with the fabric club and is available in sizes from newborn to 3T.
Star Guardian Janna from League of Legends
Included for sale is the top, skirt, gloves, and thigh highs, and purple ankle pieces.

-about my experience with this cosplay-
Star Guardian Janna is so beautiful and I could not wait to cosplay her.
Her staff and head piece was actually my very first prop build so the quality isn't quite up to our high standards for sale. I did have a lot of fun with it and I encourage a lot of you to take on projects like this that you might not be comfortable with. I learned so much that I would do differently in the future, but I was so happy to finish it and see it all together.

And here are two new items for our clothing line:
Polka Dot Skirt

Jacket (available in any color)

Pokemon Cosplay of the Month!
Every month we will be releasing a new Pokémon inspired cosplay. Our goal is to complete the Kanto Pokedex!
This month was Bulbasaur!
This costume on our etsy page includes the dress and bulb backpack.
The wig is from Arda Wigs.

I absolutely adore all three of the first generation starter pokemon. I wanted to have bulbasaur be the first one to cosplay, because he's number one!

The hat in this picture was actually bought a few years ago from a vendor at Megacon. I thought it would be a cute addition for a picture.

We specialize in the sewing portion of cosplay for our shop, but accessorizing is so much fun and I'd love to see how you guys accessorize if you buy our costumes too. :)

Bulbasaur will be so much fun to wear at a convention. The functional backpack will be great to be able to store everything in!

It opens by lifting the top leaf on the bulb and closes with velcro.

So far we've completed 3 cosplays from the Kanto pokedex. We also have a lot of other pokemon themed cosplays. Check them out on facebook or etsy!

July's Project for you!
This month we will be showing you how to put in an invisible zipper! There are a lot of tutorials online but they are often more complicated and leave more room for error. This is a simple way to have a perfect zipper every time!

Step 1
Along the seam where you will be adding the zipper, baste the seam closed with large stitches that you will remove later.

Once you get down to where the zipper will end, and the seam will be permanent, switch from basting stitches to regular stitches.

The area where the zipper will go is basted. The rest of the seam is sewn normally.

On our skirt the zipper will be added to the top center back.

So the top portion is basted and lower portion of the seam is sewn normally.  Make a little notch in the fabric where the basting stops and the regular stitching starts
Step 2
 Iron the seam open.
Step 3
Line up the zipper with the seam and pin in place down the right side only.
Step 4
We are going to skip the top of the zipper for now since the pull tab is in the way.

Starting below that point, line it up on your sewing machine with the foot sitting against the teeth of the zipper.

Move the needle setting on your machine all the way to the right.

Sew down the left side of the zipper.
Step 5

Now turn around and go up the other side, moving the pins out of your way.

Stop when you get to where the pull tab is in the way.

Step 6
Remove basting stitches.

Now unzip the zipper so you can finish sewing the top of the zipper.

Step 7
Fold the end of the zipper under, toward your fabric, and sew down the left side.

Turn around and sew down the right side, again folding the end of the zipper under.
Finished!
Thank you for your interest in our business! I hope you enjoy our future newsletters and products!

Even for those of you who do not plan to cosplay, I hope that Bobbi Lynn and I are able to provide you with fun projects and photos to look through.
