WELCOME - KIM RATKOS STANTON

Kim Ratkos Stanton is the new Accountant for AEDC. She is extremely excited to bring her 20+ years of innovative and progressive accounting to small businesses all over the Adirondacks. Kim has spent the past 7 years as chief accountant at Northwood School, where she reduced costs, managed the yearly budget, and implemented new systems.

She has raised two daughters right here in the Adirondacks, who are now living in Boston and Portland as engineers. Their work in renewable energy has inspired her to find more ways to be integrated into her community and be a part of the future. Kim has been helping small businesses in the Adirondacks since 2005: securing credit, handling expansions, and always ensuring financial statements are accurate. In her free time, she walks her very sassy huskies, Nukka and Koda, tends to her growing garden, and hosts barbeques for her expansive network of family and friends.

THANK YOU, BEVERLY, FOR 25 YEARS!

Following an incredible 25 years of devoted service to the organization, Comptroller Beverly Deso will be retiring in July. Beverly has successfully guided the organization’s finance and business management through constant change and challenge. Her devotion to our clients and communities runs deep and we wish her the very best in a much-deserved retirement. If you see Beverly relaxing around the tri-lakes area or giving back in another way, wish her congratulations! She will be very missed.

Adirondack Foundation Hosts Online Event:

Community Voices: Investing in Main Street

USA_dogs_behind_fence.jpg

Thank you for your interest in Adirondack Foundation’s Community Voices session on Place-based Impact Investing. For those who were able to attend the webinar on Tuesday; thank you for your time and enthusiasm. If you were not able to attend, we are happy to share the video recording here for you.

Discussed: businesses that employ fewer than 100 (and typically fewer than 50) people are responsible for well over half of all business payrolls and receipts in the North Country Region. As we all know from experience, small businesses are the foundation of our rural regional economy. And they frequently struggle to access capital.
