Be informed with NOCO Alert

In the event of an active large-scale emergency or disaster — like the grass fire late last month just 8 miles north of Wellington that resulted in evacuations — the NOCO Alert system is the most effective way law enforcement officers and first responders have of reaching a community or a specific part of a community to keep them informed.

NOCO Alert, which is Larimer's county-wide emergency alert system, allows users to customize what alerts they receive and how they receive them.

Wellington residents can sign up to receive all alerts sent in Larimer County by texting NOCOALERT to 888777. Residents can also click the button below to go to NOCO Alert's website, where they will have options to customize the area or areas within the county about which they wish to be alerted.

Anyone with questions can click the button below or call or text (970) 962-2173.

Planning for the 4th of July

The big day is almost upon us! Here are a few things to know before you go to Wellington's 2024 4th of July community celebration:

📍 An interactive event map is available for you by clicking the appropriate button below.

🎒 Remember to plan for the heat. The high temperature in Wellington on July 4 is expected to be in the 80s and sunny. Pack water, sunscreen, and dress accordingly. The splash pad at Wellington Community Park will be on during the festival, but there is limited shade.

🐶 Leave your pets at home. When the temperature gets into the 80s, dogs can overheat in just minutes without access to shade, water and a cooler environment — none of which will be provided for them during our July 4th Celebration. Combine the heat with a high volume of people, activity and noise, and you’re left with conditions that are not pet-friendly.

🤝 most importantly, bring your patience. The Fourth of July is a huge day in Wellington. Arrive early, carpool if possible, and make friends with your neighbors when waiting in lines. What makes Wellington's Fourth of July special is not just the great activities — it's the people!

🚍 Two shuttles will run between Centennial Park and Wellington Community Park from 10: 30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You will find shuttle stops in front of the Municipal Services Building (8225 Third St.) and at the intersection of E County Road 64 and Buffalo Creek Parkway. Special thanks to Wellington CO Main Street Program!

🎶 Live music at the festival will be performed by Liz Barnez from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by 2MX2 from 1:30-3 p.m. The Car Show Awards will be announced between the two acts at 1 p.m. The live music is sponsored by the Bohemian Foundation.

🎆 The viewing location for fireworks has changed again this year. With construction no longer happening at the Eyestone Elementary South campus, the fields at both Eyestone campuses are designated viewing areas this year. Please obey all posted signage in the area.

📻 Don't forget to tune into 97.1 FM starting at 9:39 p.m. for synchronized music!

⛈️ Looking at the forecast, weather-related updates, if needed, will be announced on Town of Wellington social media and WellingtonColorado.gov☀️.
