Meet two incumbent candidates running for LD21 state offices. They will bring us up to date on Arizona issues, obstacles, and the potential for positive results.

State Senator Rosanna Gabaldón

Rosanna Gabaldón is running for re-election to the Arizona State Senate. She has served on the Sahuarita Town Council (2009/2012), the Arizona State House (2012/2020), and her current role in the Arizona State Senate (since 2020).

Rosanna states that she “understands the importance of working together and listening to each other. Effective governance is based on unity and open dialogue, and our state is strengthened by a diversity of voices and ideas.”

State Representative Stephanie Stahl Hamilton

Stephanie Stahl Hamilton is running for re-election to the Arizona House of Representatives. Stephanie was elected to the State House of Representatives in 2020 for the first time and reelected in 2022. She currently serves on the Appropriations and Joint Legislative Budget committees.

Serve on our Board

In accordance with the By-Laws of the Green Valley Democrats, a selection process must be conducted each year to create a slate of nominations to fill positions on the Executive Board for the next two years. The nominations are then presented to the general membership at the annual meeting in December. A Nominations Committee has been formed to begin seeking out and interviewing possible nominees for the 2025-2026 term of service.

To preserve continuity, Board positions are staggered as required in the By-Laws. The positions for which the Committee is seeking candidates are for the 2025-2026 term of service:

Vice Presidents for:

• Membership

• Programs

• Treasurer

• Secretary

• Member at Large

Any member in good standing, interested in serving on the Board for the next full term, should convey their interest to any of the following Committee members:

Bryan Lane - sailursaminor@gmail.com

Becky McCreary - rebeccamccreary764@gmail.com

Judy Holley - jalholley@cox.net

Mark Eckstein - az9261954@gmail.com

The candidate will be contacted by the Committee to answer questions about the position, discuss the candidate’s qualifications and interests, and set a date for an interview with all the Committee members to formalize the nomination. We hope to conclude the nomination process by the end of October 2024 at the latest.

Your interest in serving on the Board is both important and appreciated.
