MFA Longevity Market Report
News and insights from thought leaders in the longevity economy

July 2024

Dear friends and colleagues,

It has been a busy summer so far. We are still glowing from our June conference and have taken some time to follow up with the wonderful people we met and all the deal flow. We are grateful to everyone who participated. It was a sold out event with 275 attendees at the Fairmont San Francisco. The presentations were packed with insights. Two of my favorites were from CareYaya's CEO, Neal Shah, who said, "I believe the care market today is where AI was five years ago. The time to invest and build is now!" and Lindsay Jurist-Rosner, Co-Founder and CEO of Wellthy who predicted, “Climate, AI, and Care are topics that will impact employees the most.” It's this type of visionary thinking that makes this event a success year after year. We were also pleased to collaborate with the AgeTech Collaborative from AARP as our title sponsor, and we are appreciative of their support and contributions. We hosted their AgeTech After Dark competition, in addition to our 21st $10K Business Plan competition and the John Hopper Impact Award. See the winners of these competitions below.

Earlier this month I was invited to deliver a briefing on the longevity market to founders in the startup health community. Additionally, I was invited to be a judge for the Longitude Prize on Dementia. This annual award recognizes creators of breakthrough technologies that address the needs of those living with dementia, enabling them to continue living independently for longer.

We have already begun planning for our next event. The What's Next Longevity Innovation Summit will take place December 9-10 at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. Registration is now open for this event, and we are offering early-bird rates. I hope you will add this to your calendar.

I did take time to join the Sail GPT races on San Francisco Bay this weekend. The teamwork and technology were so very impressive! Spain won the race. It made me so grateful for the experience and also for the team that we have the privilege of working with at MFA through the years.

Warmly,

Mary
