Social Outings?

Are you feeling a little cooped up? Would you like to get out and meet some friends?

There's lots of ideas brewing at RCV for a social outing!

Perhaps you could host a "coffee klatch" either in your home or at a local coffee shop?

Does a walking group sound good to you? If you can "host" the walk at a local trail or park, RCV will help provide transportation to interested walkers!

Call us to talk about other ideas!

McKinleyville Senior Center News!

1620 Picket Rd. McKinleyville, CA

Thanks to all who stopped by for our Pony Express Rummage, Bake, and Open House event on June 1st! We enjoyed meeting new friends, reconnecting with old friends, and educating people on how we can help serve our older community members. We were also proud to host our community partners, Life Plan Humboldt, who share in our endeavor to make life more enjoyable for our seniors. We also wish to welcome our newest hostess, Cheryl Kay Levy, who now assists on Wednesday mornings. Thank you, Cheryl!

We are also pleased to welcome our teenage tech interns back during their seasonal school break, who expertly and patiently work with our participants to teach them more about their computers and handheld devices. Last summer’s intern Rose has returned, along with new intern Rowan, will be available on Thursdays; Trevin will be on hand on Fridays from 9am – 12pm to help you get more out of living in the digital world. After all, kids know more about computers than anyone, right?

Speaking of computers, the DMV is now requiring those wishing to renew their vehicle registration or driver license to apply online. This can be a roadblock to seniors who haven’t the familiarity with technology to do so. We can help! Come in Thursday or Friday mornings, and let one of our interns help walk you through the process. If an in-person appointment is necessary, we can schedule one for you on the spot.

As always, we welcome our age 55+ folks to participate in what we have to offer, and to become involved in our Center mission: Sharing and Caring! Selfless service brings us joy, and it will you too. Have a wonderful July!

Thank you to our community partners!

Will you consider a gift to HSRC?

Donations to the Humboldt Senior Resource Center are appreciated and help ensure older adults in our community are able to age at home with dignity and independence.

If you choose, you can designate your donation to Redwood Coast Village. Click the button below to make a donation or mail your donation to HSRC, 1910 California St., Eureka, CA 95501. For questions, call Director of Fund Development, Beth Bray, at 707-443-9747 x1292.
