Happy July from IH Parts America!
Summer is here and with that come the road trips and offroad trips.
We made the long drive to Springfield, Ohio for the 33rd IH Scout and All Truck Nationals towing a 1965 Scout 800 Resto-mod build that we just finished up. We were very honored to bring home a couple of trophies for our effort. More details on our trip are below.
Another trip we made was with Hideous on a local hardcore trail called Fordyce with a couple of Ultimate Adventure alumni. Read below on how we avoided drowning in the hi flowing river crossings.
A reminder that this Thursday and Friday July 4th & 5th we will be closed for Independence Day Holiday. We hope everyone has a great holiday weekend and enjoys the freedoms we have today because of brave men and women of the past.

Like we do every year we packed up a trailer and headed east for the 33rd IH Scout and All Truck Nationals. Like 2023, this year’s show took place at the Navistar Assembly Plant in Springfield, Ohio. Our vendor booth at the show was in the same spot as last years and this trip we showcased a build-off vehicle, a 1965 Scout 800 that our guys in the shop were just finishing up. Although we didn’t win the build-off competition, we did manage to bring home a trophy plaque for first place in the Scout 80/800 Show Wild Modified class and a people’s choice type award for Best 1st Generation Scout. | It was great to see our friends to the east and it won’t be long before we are headed that direction again.
Next up on the list for shows that we travel to is the Rocky Mountain IH Rendezvous being held July 19-21 in Creede, Colorado. We are not sure what we will be driving out for that event, but it does not look like we will be bringing a trailer so if you want something brought out don’t wait as space will be limited. The event will be celebrating its 30th anniversary and of all the events we go to we look forward to going to this one the most for the wild game cook out they have each year. Can’t wait to see what’s on this year’s menu! More information on this awesome event can be found at https://www.rmihr.net/
We won’t be home for barely a week before we will be making the annual pilgrimage to Fort Wayne, Indiana for the 6th Annual Harvester Homecoming. For that event we will be bringing out the SuperDuty and a trailer so if you are needing some large parts hauled out let our sales staff know. This year’s event is August 2nd & 3rd and if you are wanting to see some serious IH history a trip to this event is a must. More information on this historical event can be found at https://harvesterhomecoming.com/

If the doors on your Scout 80 or 800 don’t shut right chances are the mid-rear body mount(s) are bent or broken. These mounts are very weak from the factory, and it is common to find one or both needing repair. Upgrade your mounts with our robust CPT Center Cab Mounts, designed for unmatched durability. Factory mounts are welded to the frame and are notorious for bending over or completely breaking off of the frame. Our replacement mounts feature additional bracing, providing superior strength compared to the original and are crafted from 3/16” thick material which is significantly thicker than the factory's ⅛” mounts.
Available for purchase soon in our store, these mounts are essential for any frame-off restoration or repairing sagging body mounts. Ensure your Scout is built to not break with our premium cab mounts.

Just arrived from one of our aftermarket Scout parts manufacturers: aftermarket, non-licensed grill replacements for your late-model Scout II! Unlike the originals, these grills do not say 'International' due to licensing conflicts. However, don't let that deter you from finally getting a crack-free grill! They are currently in stock and available for purchase in our store.

We also have coming from Scout Light Line a licensed version with the International logo. We hope to have these available by our next stock order.

These mounts are compatible with any solid-axle or solid I-beam style chassis but are not made for IFS applications. As promised in last month’s newsletter we put together a seven-minute-long video going over all the details of this resto-mod 1965 Scout 800 that the guys in the shop here at IH Parts America just finished up. Here is the link to our YouTube video. We hope you like it and if you do let us know and if you haven’t yet, please subscribe to our channel so that you don’t miss any future episodes that we produce.
We are lucky to live 45 miles from one of the hardest trails California has to offer. No not the infamous Rubicon, as that trail is 67 miles from us to the trailhead at Loon Lake. The trail I’m talking about is Fordyce which at roughly 12 miles long offers five “winch hills” and three serious water crossings. It has been a few months since we last hit any hard trails, so knowing that we would be tackling the trail with water levels flowing at 420cfs, we knew we were going to be crossing this trail when most others turn back.
We met up with fellow Ultimate Adventure alumni James Ryder, who despite driving a Toyota is still a true IH guy, and he has the tattoo to prove it. We also met up with UA alumni Kory Holmes in his Scout II affectionately named Smoosh. The three of us hit the trail around 8:00 in the morning and despite a few mechanical problems (blown relay in Hideous, axleshaft ujoint in Smoosh) we made it to Meadow Lake, the ending spot of the trail, a little after 4:00. Although the day was hot, it was such an epic run going through the deep water crossings and wheeling with great friends.
Cameraman Joe filmed the whole trip. We’ll have a video posted on our YouTube channel in a couple of weeks. If you haven’t subscribed to our channel yet, please do so you don’t miss any of these adventures that we take or builds that we do.

If you haven’t already marked your calendars, the 2024 IH Sierra Fall Rallye will be held October 11th -13th at the usual location, the Nevada County Fairgrounds. We finally got a contract a short time ago and are actively working on the new Flyer, Registration and Sponsor forms which we hope to have out after the Independence Day holiday weekend.
We are excited to announce that we have added quite a few more truck classes and a special class for Medium & Heavy Duty trucks as well as a class for Metro’s.
Stay tuned on the IHSFR Facebook page for the latest news on this awesome event.
