Dogs not allowed on outdoor sports courts & playgrounds

We love dogs at the Skokie Park District and also love our ordinance that provides safe and healthy spaces for all dogs and humans!

Pleased be advised that the Skokie Park District ordinance states that among many other spaces, DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED on playgrounds and on sports courts, which include tennis, basketball, pickleball, futsal, sand volleyball and petanque courts.

The ordinance also requires that dogs (in parks that are not restricted by the ordinance) must be restrained by a leash no longer than eight feet in length, with dog owners maintaining physical control of their dogs at all times. Retractable leashes and electronic leashes are prohibited. And remember, off leash dogs are always welcome at Pooch Park! Click here to become a member today.

Summer Concert at Devonshire Park: Mr. Meyers

Mr. Myers blends the tropical sounds of calypso and ska, the rhythms of reggae, and a little rock-n-roll blended with classic tunes to create their own Caribbean rock.

The band has become a favorite dance band in the clubs, at summer festivals, and on college campuses throughout the Midwest.

Bring a chair or blankets and enjoy this free event with family and friends. Adult beverages are available for purchase.

Free! New Skokie Story Stroll at Timber Ridge Park

Bring the family to Timber Ridge Park this summer and read the children's book on display along the park's walking path, "Patrick Picklebottom and the Longest Wait" by Mr. Jay.

This latest addition to the Patrick Picklebottom collection expands on what is sure to become a classic character in children's literature. Join Patrick as he explores his imagination to make the longest wait ever a whole lot more fun. Using art and music, Patrick creates new worlds for himself and the reader, showcasing that in any trip, there's far more fun in the journey than in the destination.
