Two more summer arts & crafts classes with Antonia Barolini-Alvarez give you an opportunity to keep your creative juices flowing. Choose between Drawing (12546) on Wednesday mornings at 10am or Painting with Pastels (12545) on Wednesday afternoons at 12:30pm, or take both for twice the fun. These two courses have limited four-week runs, suited equally for those looking to try out a new hobby or established art students filling the month until our fall term begins.

Barolini-Alvarez is a talented painter and draftsperson who enjoys working in watercolor, oil, acrylic, marker, colored pencil, as well as oil and chalk pastel. She welcomes all skill levels and nurtures each budding artist with the appropriate supports. Students improve their techniques through expert demonstrations and personalized guidance while enjoying the company of their inspired classmates.

Her Drawing (12546) class follows an interdisciplinary approach from a wide range of artistic traditions. Use varied materials (pencil, charcoal, markers, pen and ink) to draw from observation and imagination. Learn how light and dark values to bring your subjects to life. Painting with Pastels (12545) offers a fresh way to create paintings filled with color and light. Instruction will begin with the basics of drawing, followed by a step-by-step introduction to the use of pastels with attention to style, color and composition.
