Hello Citrus County Realtor friends!
I hope that you are having a great summer so far. I look forward to summertime because I love the warm weather! A good majority of the staff at the Property Appraiser's office are parents. So even though it's summertime and kids are out of school taking a break, moms and dads are still here plugging away!
Last month our office submitted the estimated property values to all 7 of the taxing authorities to they could get a rough idea of what the values would be and start preparing their budgets. Well as of today, we sent them our final values. Now it is up to them to prepare the budgets they feel will be best use of taxpayer dollars from the citizens of Citrus County.
Next we will start to prepare for our Notice of Proposed Taxes to be mailed to all property owners on August 16th! I would love it if you could open your Trim Notice once you receive it. It has very important information enclosed. We want to make sure that you have received all of the exemptions you are entitled to. As well as review your current assessed value. If you don't agree with your value we encourage you to contact your appraiser by calling their number listed on the front of the notice, above the exemption information.
We know that the TRIM Notice can be slightly confusing for some, so we would like to extend an offering to join in on one of our Realtor Training Sessions. We will be holding our next class on August 1st from 9AM-12PM in our Meadowcrest office! We would love for you to tell your homeowners about our class. We will take a deep dive into understanding the trim notice as well much more. They can sign up on our website citruspa.org.
Until next time, we hope that you get to spend quality time with your friends and family, enjoying this sweet summertime. Get out and explore all that Citrus County has to offer! A friendly reminder, our offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4, 2024 in observance of Independence Day. If you haven't looked at the Discover Crystal River Facebook page, I would encourage you to do so. They are constantly posting Citrus County hidden gems. Between restaurants, activities, places to stay, etc. all over Citrus County.
