Hello Lucy,

Can you believe it's July already?! Where does the time go? The last month has found me in my studio painting much more. I have completed the next painting in my hiking Havasu series, "Nature's Symphony." This is a 30x40 custom framed original oil painting. What a joy to paint! I could hear the water cascade, along with birdsong, as my brush danced upon the canvas. This one was a challenge to photograph with accurate color. I look forward to having it professionally captured in the coming weeks! Check back for this image soon on my website.

Richard and I are leaving in a couple days for Sheridan, Wyoming and the grand opening of Ballard's Fine Art Gallery! (Details below.) I am thrilled to be able to attend in person and to be showing with such an incredible group of artists! What a fun adventure it will be, exploring this part of the country.

We have also been spending time up at our mountain home escaping the heat. These have been for pleasure, rest, and also leading and hosting another marriage retreat weekend! What a gift and a blessing. We will soon break ground on an addition!

Hiking Havasu Falls has truly been a trip of a lifetime. On my “bucket list” for several years, finally it was time! Training began months before to build up my strength and endurance. It’s about an eight mile hike from the Hualapai Hilltop down to Supai Village where we stayed. It then was close to ten miles each way the following day to reach Beaver Falls. The trek between Mooney Falls and Beaver Falls is fairly rough, and involves multiple creek crossings. You also need to descend to the base of Mooney Falls, which is a steep climb with ladders and chains...

"Narrative scenes brilliantly interpreted by Dickens. These moments and memories are exhilarating to behold." -Informed Collector

"Lucy's realism is not about reproducing a scene, but rather capturing those special moments with all the accompanying magic. In this regard, she has a gift. She is able to reveal spirit and enable viewers to be part of the experience as she makes a special connection with her subject matter and honors its essence. People respond." -Donna Kublin
