A Message from your Executive Director


Since being a part of the FYIdaho family, I have been asked many questions about our organization. I thought I would compile the 10 most asked questions for all of you and use this as an opportunity to share a little bit about our organization. 


 

10 Fun Facts about FYIdaho


1) Who is FYIdaho?

FYIdaho, or Families and Youth of Idaho, is a family-run statewide nonprofit organization that serves parents and caregivers of youth with mental health challenges through navigation, education, and advocacy. 


2) Where is FYIdaho located?

You can come see us at our physical location in downtown Boise. Our address is 704 N. 7th St. Boise, ID 83702


3) Family Programs

Our Family Programs include our Family Support Line [208-433-8845] to help families navigate the system of care throughout Idaho, connect to services, and identify useful resources. Our Family Support Line is available at no charge and can be reached

Monday – Friday from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. Additionally, we offer virtual support groups and educational events for parents and caregivers to collaborate, provide support, and be an avenue for parent voice. 


4) Youth Programs

We offer virtual, after-school, and summer programs for teens that provide a welcoming and safe environment to engage in meaningful conversations about mental wellness. 


5) Do you offer educational workshops on mental health and about FYIdaho?

Absolutely! You can email us at info@fyidaho.org if you are interested in an interactive and comprehensive presentation about FYIdaho or if you would like to be a part of our educational workshops. Topics include, person first language, positive language formatting, pronoun-inclusive dialogue, mental health in the workplace, and more. Let us know how we can share the array of mental health topics with you and your teams!

8) What is something you are excited to share from your work during May Mental Health Month?

FYIdaho participated in the State Capitol event for Mental Health Awareness Month, our Children’s Mental Health Acceptance Week Festival at the Boise Brick House, podcasts, interviews, and conversations with the Boise Chamber.

10) How can my organization become involved with FYIdaho?

Every second Wednesday of the month, FYIdaho will be hosting Community Connections, a drop-in style open house for families, youth, and community partners focused around mental health and well-being.

1) Evening Caregivers' Support Group

First Monday of the month at 7:00 PM

July 1st

FYIdaho Family Support Partner Rochelle Bettis will facilitate a discussion among parent peers to help you manage the stresses of what can be an isolating journey at times. Also for parents and caregivers who need support as their child transitions to residential care or back to home.

2) Parents of Youth with Complex Diagnosis

First Friday of the month at Noon

July 5th

This month join FYIdaho Family Support Partner Rochelle Bettis, parents and caregivers who have a youth with a dual diagnosis. All parents are welcome!

Third Monday of the month at 12:30 PM

July 15th
