Message from Our President

Greetings! I hope you are keeping (your) cool during this very hot summer. In saying that, this summer is passing quickly as I realize our annual Raise ‘N Graze brunch is coming upon us. We have moved the event to September 30, 202 this year, as we typically hold it in early November. It will once again be held at Heaven on Earth Event Venue in Missouri City, Texas; however, our dear friend and owner, Tamara Vogt Smith, has sold the venue and we are lucky to be grandfathered in for one more year! Last year’s event was very successful, and we truly hope to surpass that this year. Please come and join us. Reservation tickets will be on sale very soon.

Regarding our Annual Fund, thank you to all who have donated thus far. Your generosity is much appreciated!

Lastly, Maribeth, Michelle, and I will be travelling to Ghana in a few weeks. We have not been able to travel there since 2019 due to the pandemic, so we are looking forward to meeting our new sewing school students and our new recipients at KNUST, along with visiting each of our partners in all regions: Accra, Cape Coast, Kumasi and Bolgatanga.

None of this is possible without YOU! Thank you to our donors and thank you for continuing to support our mission, either monetarily and/or in prayer. God bless you.

Jennifer Appling, President

FROM FELICIA: Completing her degree in Accounting

Women InSpirit, I want to update you on how far I have come, the journey ahead, plus what God is planning to do.

My final Semester has begun as of June. I have the project work and * industrial Attachment* to do in crowning the semester and the whole program. This will be done off campus until August. My Bachelor of Technology in Accounting (Degree ) will be ready . Hurray! 😂 I can’t wait! This is thanks to the Women InSpirit Team.

During my attachment, I have decided to enroll in a private school called TIMELINE TRUST (www.Timelinetrust.com) . I will sit for the English proficiency test (IELTS ) so as to acquire that certificate so I can apply for Jobs or school overseas. I will attend six weeks of intensive class with the British council. The exams will be conducted by the British council and it's highly acceptable in foreign lands in seeking for job visa or admission.

So far this is what I want to do and my journey so far . My prayer is to go higher and be able to give back to Society . I remain grateful to you and the entire Team . God bless you all

🙏🙏🙏

Best Regards ,

Yin Felicia

FROM AGNES- Graduate 2022 with Agricultural Engineering degree- Doing National Service Year

Agnes is doing her year of National Service in Akuse, Ghana in the eastern Volta region. She is working for Golden Exotics Limited in the water Balance Department. Agnes reports that she is dealing with the irrigation systems on a farm right now. "It is not a boring job...definitely messy but interesting!" We are proud of Agnes and can't wait to see what is in store for her after this year is up.

"I would like you and Women in Spirit to know that I am so sincerely grateful that I have you in my life, one of the most virtuous and caring people I have ever met. You are a shining example to all who cross your path. You’re simply the best, and I thank you for your support and kindness towards me. Please accept my appreciation for showing me such immeasurable kindness. I really appreciate and will remember it. The world needs more people like you in it. Thank you for everything."
