Volunteering in Parks: A Great Way to Give Back to Your Community
Parks are an essential part of our community. They provide us with places to relax, play, and connect with nature, but parks also require a lot of maintenance to keep them clean, safe, and accessible.
Volunteering is a great way to give back to your community and make a difference. There are many ways to volunteer for your local parks, including:
- Clean up litter: This is a great way to keep parks clean and safe for everyone.
- Maintain trails: This involves clearing brush and removing obstacles.
- Install playground mulch: Help to keep children safe and ensure they are having fun.
- Complete a special project for a badge or award: Parks staff will work with you or your group to complete a special project toward your Eagle Award, Gold Award, or another badge/award.
Volunteering in parks is a rewarding experience that can benefit both you and your community.
