The program is a specialized 90-day accelerator for innovative and disruptive fintech startups. Applications close July 14.

USF Executive MBA students traveled to Cape Town, South Africa for a summer international trip where they learned lessons in global business and executive leadership. But one of their biggest lessons turned out to be the power of empathy. The group rallied to uplift living conditions for children at the Home of Hope.

Summer interns at Baldwin Risk Partners took part in the Human Insurance Chain exercise and saw the many different roles impacted by one commercial insurance claim.

Olympic gold medalist Evelyne Viens ('19, Accounting) was selected for induction into the USF Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2023. Viens played on the USF women's soccer team from 2016 to 2019.

Randy Dumm has been appointed the new director of the Baldwin Risk Partners School of Risk Management and Insurance at the USF Muma College of Business. Dumm comes to USF from Temple University where he was a deputy department chair. | |

Jennifer Cainas will receive the 2023 Outstanding Faculty Advisor award from Beta Alpha Psi, the international honor society for accounting, finance and information systems. She will be honored at the BAP annual meeting and receive a $5,000 cash award from RSM US LLP for her work as faculty advisor for USF's Delta Gamma chapter.

Mac Gardner, a member of the Personal Financial Planning program's advisory board at the Muma College of Business, helped launch the first chapter of Mu Nu Upsilon, a co-ed fraternity for students interested in financial planning. The USF student chapter started last year and Gardner is working to expand the organization to other college campuses.

Alumni Spotlight: Sean Baker, a USF MBA grad and Marine Corps veteran, is the new voice welcoming travelers aboard airport shuttles at Tampa International Airport. He won the Voice of TPA contest and during July, his message will temporarily replace Mayor Jane Castor's voice greeting passengers headed to the main terminal.

Matthew Mullarkey, director of the DBA program and a professor of instruction in the School of Information Systems and Management, received the Best Associate Editor Award at the 31st European Conference on Information Systems in Kristiansand, Norway.
Dipayan Biswas, the Frank Harvey Endowed Professor of Marketing in the School of Marketing and Innovation, was quoted in a story on digital tipping in The Jerusalem Post.
Triparna de Vreede, an associate director in the School of Information Systems and Management, was featured in a story about the $8.5 million PHEARLESS public health grant initiative in the Tampa Bay Business Journal.
James Stock, a Distinguished University Professor and co-director of the Monica Wooden Center for Supply Chain Management & Sustainability, co-authored “Best practices in logistics sustainability Part 2: A look at packaging, reverse logistics, and technology,” in the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals’ Supply Chain [Quarterly].

John Chiang (’84, BA, Finance) joined the board of directors of the Chijet Motor Company, Inc., a high-tech enterprise engaged in the development, manufacture, sales, and service of traditional fuel vehicles and new energy vehicles.
Ashley Troutman (’04, BS, Marketing) was appointed to the Polk State College District Board of Trustees. Troutman is a financial advisor for Northwestern Mutual.
Nicole Newlon (‘95, BA, Finance, ’07, MBA, Finance) was appointed to the Pasco-Hernando State College District Board of Trustees.
Frances Rice (‘19, BS, Marketing) is the new human resources coordinator at Holland America Line. She is a former USF Muma College of Business 25 Under 25 Award honoree.
Ali Besharat (‘12, PhD) received the Distinguished Scholar Award, was appointed chair of the Marketing Department, and was promoted to full professor of marketing at the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver.
