Madison Station Quilt Guild, Secretary’s Report
General Membership Meeting, June 8, 2023
Location: St Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 786 Hughes Road, Madison, AL 35758
Attendance: 62 members, 2 new members, 9 visitors
Call-to Order: Meeting was started at 6:31 pm by Vice President Sue Bartlow
Old Business:
· A motion to approve the May meeting minutes was made, seconded and approved.
· Diane announced a reminder for the Sashiko Class on Saturday June 10th from 9-3.
· Extra Paint Chip Challenge Instructions are available if needed.
New Business:
· Sheila shared information about the Tennessee Valley Quilt Assembly Day happening on August 15th. The event is free to members of TVQA; membership is $15. The Assembly Day will have classes available and the guest speaker will be Paula Barnes. Registration forms are available.
· Donation gifts:
o Three (3) members received thank you gift cards provided by Barb’s Sewing Center, Sweet Home Quilting, and Southern Charm Quilting.
o One (1) member received half-square triangle papers.
Speaker: No speaker.
Show-and-Tell: No Show-and-Tell.
Meeting was adjourned at 6:40 pm.
Following the meeting the evenings event was the “De-stash for Cash”. Many members purchased tables and brought quilt/sewing related items for sale while others were able to shop and purchase items.
