According to the NCUA, total outstanding loans increased by 11.7% YOY by the end of the first quarter. Used-auto loans rose 13.4% YOY and new auto loans rose 3.6% YOY. While auto lending is strong, the rising food and gas prices will make it hard to find buyers of vehicles that are not so fuel efficient.
