The Carol Stream Park District Board of Commissioners and staff were out at Armstrong Park the evening of June 27 to meet residents. Each summer a few "Meet Us at the Park" events are planned at different parks so the Commissioners can speak with our residents. Families can play trash can ball, giant Jenga, Kerplunk and Connect Four games and GaGa Ball! The next "Meet Us at the Park" will be at Jirsa Park on August 22, from 6 to 7pm.
All are welcome, stop on by!
July is National Park & Recreation Month
July is Park and Recreation Month. A program of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), the goal is to raise awareness of the essential services that park and recreation professionals provide to communities across the US. This year's theme is We Rise Up for Parks and Recreation.

“Unplug Illinois” is a statewide effort to encourage people to "unplug", put down or leave behind all electronic devices and "plug into" the social and health benefits of parks and recreation.

To celebrate both initiatives this July, we ask you to "Rise Up" and leave your electronic devices at home and enjoy two fun family activities. The Park Passport is a month-long, at-your-leisure program in which you are guided through activities around town in our parks. Check off boxes on your passport to earn entries into a raffle. The Family Fun Run/Walk, scheduled on July 9 - Unplug Illinois Day - is a noncompetitive family run/walk starting at Bierman Park and then around Heritage Lake with fun obstacles like bubbles, tires, sprinklers, hopscotch and more! Families can also enjoy a special treat and lawn games. Click on ads below for more information and to register.
