Alishia Parenteau became a client and member of Team Beachbody in 2011 when she needed a gym but none available in her rural community of 5000 residents. Having a long commute and little time to work out the in-home DVDs was her go-to exercise routine which yielded excellent results. Today, a library of 1500+ workouts are online and on-demand. Beachbody is the Netflix of fitness with nutrition, support, and wellness components for the “total solution.” Her clients include people from different walks of life, such as lawyers, bankers, business people, moms, retirees, teachers, and many more.
Because she deals with a diverse clientele, she leads free challenge groups for the curious and tailored programs for specific customers. For instance, she encourages aerobic / dance exercises for customers who are either overweight or have not worked out in a long time. The idea is to start moving your body. However, she suggests body toning, stretches, and strength exercises for those who either want to burn fat, build muscles or maintain their fitness status.
Alishia’s lifestyle approach has been an inspiration to coaches on her team and clients who are looking to make small changes over time. We celebrate the non-scale victories as well as those on the scale. She takes the 2 pounds a week approach where consistency over time brings lasting results.
Alishia grew up in South Florida. She developed an interest in healthy eating through Readers Digest "Change One" (portions based on objects) in her 20’s. Skincare and the in-home spa experience become her thing in her 30’s. Through her 40’s she dialed in on exercise and making more thoughtful, more nutritious food choices as her metabolism changed. Last November, she achieved a healthy lifestyle and being the best version of herself for her 50th birthday. Now she wants to help others do the same; her goal is to be pill-free, healthy, happy, and active for her 60th birthday.
Alishia embraces “modification” for those who have ache knees, hips, or backs—eating food at celebrations without guilt and embracing me-time. With decades of living by example, she has positively impacted many people’s lives. Outside of the Beachbody lifestyle, she enjoys SEC college football, equestrian activities, volunteering, yard work, beach, travel, family, friends, and pets.
Professionally, her background was in community relations, outdoor advertising, and special events.
