DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE

GVCO continues to focus on the health and safety of those in our community. As we work to bring GVCO programming to the community, we have spent a good deal of time with Covid-19 protocols and procedures.

We are following guidance for recreational and youth sports from the CDC, state and local governments, as well as our school district, in modifying policies and protocols to facilitate a healthy and comfortable experience for participants and staff to mitigate the risk of spreading the virus. Individual programs will have specific policies related to their programs posted on websites and included in program information.

As always, we rely on everyone’s cooperation in keeping the entire community safe and need your help in assessing your or your child’s risks and staying home when appropriate.

GVBL Summer League Basketball
The GVBL Summer Basketball League found a new home this summer thanks to GVCO's longtime community partner, The Desmond Great Valley. The Desmond's leadership generously offered their beautiful outdoor court, and many of the communities' families are now enjoying another great summer of basketball.

We are happy to offer Boys and Girls 3rd/4th and 5th/6th Summer League divisions. GVBL implemented new COVID-19 policies and procedures that includes a daily screening questionnaire as well as social distancing, disinfecting and masking procedures. With your help, GVBL has been able to provide a safe and fun experience for all.

GVCO Caring Hands
GVCO Caring Hands is gearing up for a new season of service and giving back to the Great Valley community through activities such as:

Grocery gift card fund raising with GVSD social workers, supporting first responders with special headbands for masks, raising funds for GV "Families in Need", writing notes to seniors in nursing homes, food drives with a local pantry, wrapping gifts for senior citizens during holidays, and our Fall donation drive for children's essentials with Cradles to Crayons.

GV Crew
GV Crew continues to research the possibilities for Fall Season. As you know there are many moving parts: PIAA regulations, school openings/closures, mandates for school sports, and local regulations, to name a few.

Join the GV Crew Fall Season Meeting on Wednesday, August 12 @ 7pm via ZOOM for the latest information.

In the meantime, please be sure that you have completed our Great Valley Crew  PRE-REGISTRATION   to keep us informed of your intentions to row this Fall.

Pre-Registration is open until August 9th, 2020, but please complete the form ASAP if you know you will be joining. First Practice is scheduled for Monday, August 17, 2020 out of the John S. Trinsey Jr. Memorial Boathouse

GVFL Fall Season Update: Unfortunately, due to the majority of programs in our league relying on school or shared public facilities that ultimately were not able to pull off the necessary protocols to insure we were able to play this fall, the Inter County Football League has canceled the 2020 season.

Stay tuned for flag football program information on the GVCO fields!

Project Update
The playing field, beachers and equipment shed have taken shape at the new GVCO Community Center property at 51 N Bacton Hill.

We are working diligently to create some parking areas so outdoor programming can begin this fall!
