Citations Now Appearing in PubMed
We are happy to announce that
Current Developments in Nutrition
(
CDN
) has been accepted for inclusion in the National Library of Medicine’s PubMed Central (PMC).
CDN
articles can now be found in the PMC
repository
at
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/journals/3465/
. As part of its standard operations, PMC also sends citations to PubMed. Thus, citations and abstracts of CDN articles also now appear in PubMed with unique PMIDs.

Anniversary. The deadline for comment is August 15, 2018 to keep on track for the Strategic Oversight Committee’s charge to provide the VISION 2028 White Paper to the ASN Board of Directors this fall for review and adoption by year-end. Thank you to those of you who have participated to date. Let your voice be heard!

ASN to Comment on FDA Nutrition Innovation Strategy
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced a public meeting entitled “
FDA’s Comprehensive, Multi-Year Nutrition Innovation Strategy
.” The purpose of the public meeting is to give interested persons an opportunity to comment on FDA’s nutrition innovation strategy, including: a standard icon or symbol for the claim “healthy”; a more efficient review strategy for evaluating qualified health claims; statements or claims that could facilitate innovation to promote healthful eating patterns; approaches for modernizing standards of identity; possible changes that could make ingredient information more consumer friendly; and FDA’s educational campaign for consumers about the updated Nutrition Facts Label that consumers will be seeing in the marketplace. The meeting will be held
July 26, 2018
from 8:30am-5:30pm ET in Rockville MD. Attendees are encouraged to
register online
to attend the meeting in person or via live webcast. Written comments are due
by August 27, 2018
