The party season has kicked off - beginning with our fabulous Steak Fry June 21st. A big thank you to Melinda and Tom Ristvey! There were many helping hands in the kitchen and on the grounds as well that made it a success.

Remember the Family Picnic is Saturday, July 1st. It's not too late to attend.

The Summer Luau Party is Saturday, July 29th and reservations are needed by July 12th so Choppers BBQ Smoke Shack can plan accordingly.

There will be appetizers, slaws, roast pig, smoked green bean casserole, cheesy potatoes, and desserts. A full bar is also included. Deejay entertainment will be provided by Take 1 Productions. Cost is $30 for adults and $20 for children. It is sure to be a great time! So mark your calendars and make your reservations!

The Club provides hamburgers and hotdogs for all. Each family is asked to bring a dish to share for the potluck.

There will be fun and games for children of all ages!

It is the State Park's Fourth of July fireworks display at the dam. The Club's usual flotilla to observe the night skies is planned and we are also encouraging boats to participate in our boat decorating contest.

Please join us in congratulating Sofia Gray on earning her US Sailing Small Boat Level 1 Instructor Certificate! If you have never gone thru an instructor training, this is not a small task. US Sailing focuses on safety, fun and learning (in that order) and takes expectations of their instructors seriously. We are so excited and proud of you to join our PCC Sailing School staff!

Sailing has played an important role in my life for as long as I can remember: the benefits (mental and physical), lessons learned and friendships I formed thru sailing are endless and will last a lifetime. I got to spend last week in or near sailboats, but this time it was a little (ok, a lot!) extra special: I had the privilege to meet and learn from one of the most successful women in US sailing history and an Olympic Gold Medalist, Allison Jolly. Not only that, but I got to watch Sofia become a US Sailing Small Boat Sailing Instructor and I am beyond proud of her accomplishment :) To be able to inspire people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to get out on the water and try something new, and to do so alongside these two amazing women made for a truly amazing week!

SAILING SCHOOL MAKING WAVES

Our sailing school is now in the full swing of the season! We are super proud of all of our students, especially all new sailors who sailed for the first time in the last class, as well as braved the capsize recovery drill. The conditions have been perfect so far and allowed us to get out and practice some basic sailing skills. As always, huge THANK YOU goes to our PCC Safety Crew (Sue and Ron) - it's so important to have our safety support out on the water in case of any emergencies!

From the President's Desk

A gas grill has been purchased for club members use.  It is located on the patio outside the women’s locker room.  Since it takes propane, use of the grill should be accompanied by a donation of a few dollars to offset propane cost.  Until we have a specific box, the money can be put in the drink donation box. Please remember to clean the grill after use! 

There are also plans to clean out the garage and lean-to shed and all items owned by members in those two areas should be removed or labeled with member name or they risk being thrown away.  If they are unable to get to the club to label please let someone know about the item so they can be labeled.
