Congrats, Lisa Pfenninger!

We are excited to announce the Judy Melton Award

recipient for 2023… Lisa Pfenninger!

Lisa has been a volunteer with the Foundation since the mid 1990s. She has served on the Grants Committee, going above and beyond to help our local nonprofits. She enjoys meeting with the organizations and helping them find more connections and grant opportunities.

Lisa serves the community in many ways through the Art Association of Henry County, the New Castle-Henry County Animal Shelter, the New Castle-Henry County Public Library, Henry County United Fund, the Christian Love Center, and her church.

Your Community Foundation Connection

Nonprofit Internship Grant Helping Students and Local Organizations

Did you know that there are more than 400 nonprofit organizations in Henry County? School groups, churches, food pantries, libraries, kids programs, and so much more. We have hundreds of leaders and volunteers working hard to help in Henry County. Isn’t that amazing?

Many of our nonprofits are operating through fundraising. With such tight budgets, finding extra help can seem nearly impossible.

In 2022, HCCF launched an Internship Grant Program for local nonprofits.

Donating and Doing Good: Donors Set Up Fund to Support Giving Back through the Elks Lodge

As a kid growing up in the Tri High area, Chris Wilkey was heavily involved in extracurricular activities and sports at his school. After college, when the city life of Indianapolis wasn’t what he expected, he moved back home to be close to family. Chris and his wife, Lindsey, love their community and their main goal is to make a difference in the town that raised them.
