June is Here!
Let’s hear it for the boys – and DADS! This month celebrates Father’s Day, so we have some extra recipes created especially for the magnificent men out there! Plus, we’re willing to bet that you are more than ready for planning some fun summer nights, so we think you’ll love these delicious summer meals and celebratory libations! Nothing says summer more than delicious Limoneira citrus and a dip into a cool pool, but for now let’s take a dip into the latest cool news from Limoneira!

Limoneira's Latest
Farm work is not for the faint of heart. It demands a steady flow of energy, strength, and perseverance, and we could not be more grateful for our Limoneira farmworkers. So, we wanted to do something special and meaningful for our cherished farmworkers, and we felt it would be a real blessing (yes, pun intended!) to have a special Mass held for our Limoneira farmworkers. St. Joseph is the patron saint of all people who work with their hands, and we held a special mass with Regional Santa Barbara Bishop Robert Barron, who came to Limoneira Park to honor and bless the 125 farmworkers in attendance. All present felt this heartfelt sermon as Bishop Barron recognized how farmworkers are so essential, so important; and how without them, we would be hard-pressed to grow and harvest food for all of us. We especially were moved when he recognized the value of their laboring hands and blessed them in particular. Read more about this beautiful mass here!

Sustainability Update
Pesky pests and insects are not quite as pesky due to one of our latest sustainable initiatives – the Orchard Fuel Stations. Now this isn’t a station with gasoline, rather a wild mix of gorgeous flowers that natural enemies can munch on, or refuel from, that are very sugary and help drive them further into our groves. This is just one of the many sustainable initiatives that makes Limoneira an innovative leader in the growing of citrus. These fuel stations are planted throughout our rows of trees, spaced perfectly to create biological corridors, giving us more control of pests from a sustainable approach. Learn more from Edgar Gutierrez, our Vice President of Farming Operations, who will guide you through this exciting, forward-thinking project in the video above.

Don’t let the mosquitoes getcha! We have an alternative to those sticky sprays and unpleasantly odored candles with this genius DIY tip! All it takes is a bit of rosemary, some eucalyptus oil, and a few slices of the Limoneira lemon and lemon oil, an unscented candle, and voila! See our latest video above – and say goodbye to those darn mosquitoes!
In the Produce News
It just wouldn’t be summertime without Limoneira lemons, so you’ll love our news from our South American counterparts! As the California lemon growing season and production winds down, we are gearing up to be in full swing in Argentina and Chile! This is all part of our strategy to be “One World of Citrus” and has allowed us to be a consistent supplier of our quality, delicious citrus. Limoneira has both our own production plus our growing partners and associate producers working together to provide fresh lemons and citrus to all of our retail partners this summer. Having our own production and packing in these other areas helps Limoneira maintain consistent volume and quality control all year long. Limoneira’s One World of Citrus™ is entering full production as both these young trees and our valued associates’ plantings come to fruition. Boy, we so appreciate and love our South America partners. Ole!

What in the World?
Ok, these DAD JOKES are in honor of, you guessed it, corny yet fabulous DADS!

  • My wife told me I was too immature, so I told her to get out of my fort!

  • Imagine if you walked into a bar and there was a long line of people waiting to take a swing at you. (That's the punch line.)

  • Why is it a bad idea to iron your four-leaf clover? Cause you shouldn't press your luck.

  • I ordered a chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

  • I can't take my dog to the pond anymore because the ducks keep attacking him. That's what I get for buying a pure bread dog.

  • Walking down the road last night, I passed an apple pie, an ice cream sundae, and a lemon cheesecake. I thought "the streets are strangely desserted tonight."

Ha ha ha – share these with your friends and family, and for these and other yuk-yuk DAD jokes, click here.
