E.M. Bounds in “Power through prayer” writes, “men are God’s method. The Church is looking for better methods; God is looking for better men.” Bounds continues a little later and says, “The Holy Ghost does not flow through methods, but through men. He does not come on machinery, but on men. He does not anoint plans, but men – men of prayer.”
I am sure you, like me long for a Holy Ghost led revival. We long for those Asbury moments when the Holy Spirit is so thick it is as if a cloud has descended on the place where you find yourself.
There is a lot I do not know; but this I know; He will not come if He is not invited. He will not descend if our prayers don’t ascend. He cannot abide if our spirits are not in unity. And He will not do His work in us, if we remain unyielded to His authority and resistant to His Lordship.
May God move on us, and in, and through as we hunger and thirst for a fresh move of the Spirit. Together, let’s pray and fast for the revival we say we want until our heart-felt desire for His anointed presence becomes a true reality.
