Christmas Eve Service

We are thrilled to have the former music director at Grace Episcopal Church, Craig Bond accompany us on Christmas Eve. Craig and Father Mac worked together at Grace for over 30 years. It's a special treat that he has agreed to attend St. Lukes's on this special Christmas Eve service. Welcome him on Saturday and express your appreciation for lending his talent with our congregation.

Collect from Sunday, Dec 24

Father,

Oh holy night, the stars are brightly shining. ’Tis the celebration of Christ, our Lord.

Whose life on earth began in a manger, adorned in ordinary cloth, and within the confines of a stable. Such greatness in power brought into this world, offering salvation, redemption, and the gift of eternal life, for all, came without regalia, pomp, nor circumstance, but with utmost humility.

Lord, we are reminded of this great lesson and of life’s essence.  Where a sense of self or self-importance gives way to humility and to what matters most.  What truly matters is the greatness we can bring by living in accordance with Thy decree.  Help us abide in Thee in the fulfillment of Thy will.

Father, we are forever grateful for the gift of Your one and only Son. Whose love and sacrifice was for the sake of us all, keeps us on the path of Jesus Christ, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Amen.

OUR HISTORY

Earlier this year, St. Luke's Episcopal Church celebrated the 75th anniversary of the building of the church. But the congregation is much older than that, having first gathered in June 1917 for an Episcopal service in Calistoga.
