Please join us in-person for our 2024 Annual Meeting!

The New Jersey State Council on the Arts will convene its 2024 Annual Meeting on Tuesday, July 30th at 10 AM. The meeting will include committee reports and voting on grants for Fiscal Year 2025, including the next cycle for General Operating Support and General Program Support grants.


The agenda will be available at the meeting, as well as a large print option. The Council will host a reception immediately following the meeting, with light refreshments served.


Those unable to attend the meeting may call the Council office at 609-292-6130 after 1:30 PM on July 30th to learn the results of the meeting. All grant awards will be posted on the Council's website by 3:00 PM.


This event is free and open to the public.

Hector Morales has performed internationally for the past 20 years. Through his work as a teaching artist in the Tri-State area, Morales has taught countless music residencies - primarily in Afro-Peruvian, Latin, and Urban Percussion - and he co-teaches a course on Performing and Teaching World Music at William Paterson University. Along with many other awards, he is a recipient of the Heritage Fellowship Award from the New Jersey State Council On The Arts. Morales currently leads “The Afro-Peruvian Ensemble”, an all-star group of Afro-Peruvian master musicians currently living in the US, and the “Lima In Blue” collective. Some of the stages he has performed on include Lincoln Center, the Smithsonian Folk Festival, The National Museum of Peru, the Society of Musicians and Composers of Chile, Festival du Monde Arabe de Montreal, and the Jerusalem Music Festival.

Parking: Discounted parking ($5) is available at Lafayette Garage, 1 West Lafayette Street. Council staff will be handing out coupons at the meeting. In the event that Lafayette Garage is full, the coupons will be honored at the 16 East Front Street Garage.

The Council will provide CART (real time captioning) for the meeting.
