Industry-Only Uruguay Trip, June 13 - 23, 2025

Here's a sampling of what to expect:
•
Visit Manos del Uruguay's shop in Montevideo, where they sell yarn, ready-to-wear knit and woven garments, as well as goods made by local craftspeople
•
Tour Manos del Uruguay's headquarters in Montevideo, to see both the color and product design process, as well as finished goods quality control and shipping
•
Visits to Manos cooperatives in the countryside, to meet the artisan members/owners and see yarn being dyed and prepared for shipment
•
Tour of a carbon-neutral wool-processing mill,
where raw wool is cleaned and drawn into roving
•
Stay at a historic ranch, which now operates as a hotel in the countryside.
Marvel at the beautiful countryside views and opt into a guided horseback ride!
•
Stay in the seaside resort town of Punta del Este, known as "the Riviera of South America"
•
Visit the Tristan Narvaja flea market, a sprawling outdoor market where you can find everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to antique door knobs
•
Lunch at a local winery featuring a range of wines crafted from Uruguayan grapes
•
Visit to an outdoor sculpture park that showcases the work of South American contemporary artists, including master sculptor Pablo Atchugarry
