Our mountain adaptive hikes are continuing in July on the Lower Bristlecone Trail, high up in Lee Canyon on Mount Charleston. We now have a second TerrainHopper (four-wheel-drive electric wheelchair) so two people can hike together. You can choose whether to drive with handlebars or with a joystick. One Hopper has an extended frame that can accommodate taller people.
The Lower Bristlecone Trail takes you along an abandoned jeep road through aspen trees and ponderosa pines, up into bristlecone pine trees. There, at 9,000 feet in elevation, you can look across the valley to cliffs of the Mt. Charleston area and look down onto the Lee Canyon Ski Resort. The TerrainHopper adaptive hike is about four miles round trip with 570 feet of elevation gain. Count on your fitting into the TerrainHopper and the adaptive hike taking 1.5-2.5 hours. Please bring your trusted person to help you transfer to the TerrainHopper.

Detailed directions to the trailhead will be emailed to you after you register. Lee Canyon Road is off of U.S. Highway 95 northwest of the Las Vegas Valley. The drive from the 215-95 interchange takes about 45 minutes.
