Good News Family & Friends,

This past Sunday worship service was awesome! Jon Clarke commented during the take aways that he definitely felt God's Spirit with us. I completely agree. I thought one of the things that lent itself to that experience was the willingness of so many people to share what was going on in their lives (i.e., good news, gratitude, encouraging Bible verses, take aways, etc.). So, let's try to build on that positive momentum by preparing ourselves for worship and jotting down a few things ahead of time that we might be willing to share as an encouragement to one another. What a blessing!

There are some great opportunities to connect via small groups, outreach, and social opportunities all listed below. I noticed that Monkey Wrench is hosting a Silent Book Club gathering this Sunday. See details below. That looked to me like a great opportunity to connect with and possibly make new friendships with others in our community. So, if you like to read and if you have more of an introverted personality, this could be right up your alley! Also, women and teen girls... mark your calendar for the next Women's Connect Fun Dinner Social next week on Thursday, March 7 (6:30pm - 8:30pm) at Hillside. Details to come.

See additional announcements and happenings below.

SUNDAY WORSHIP

Join us this Sunday (10am) for at Monkey Wrench Brewing, Bring something yummy to share for breakfast (optional), bring the kids, and bring the dogs! Nursery and children's ministry is also available.

  • Interaction and sharing are a big part of who we are as a church, so we encourage you to think about what you might share as relates to: 1) good news / highlights from this past week 2) a Bible verse of encouragement 3) a reflection from this past week's reading in God's Great Story. And, if you'd rather not share via microphone, you can email Drue and he can share for you. :)

INSPIRATION

Quotes of the Week

"When we trust God walking by faith and not by sight, the giants in our lives look like grasshoppers." - Cravens Doggett

Verse of the Week

"So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised." - Hebrews 10:35-36

Proverb of the Week

"Like a maniac shooting flaming arrows of death is one who deceives their neighbor and says, “I was only joking!” Without wood a fire goes out; without a gossip a quarrel dies down. As charcoal to embers and as wood to fire, so is a quarrelsome person for kindling strife." - Proverbs 26:18-21

VISION & VALUES

The vision of Good News Church GA is "to experience and express LOVE from God to others." The verse that undergirds our vision is Galatians 5:5b, “The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.” We value people, community, relationships, prayer, and Bible reading. We also value being able to be yourself. We’re all struggling with something, so there’s no need to pretend that we have it all together.

MISSION

The mission of Good News Church GA is "to connect with people and build relationships through community workshops, neighborhood-focused ministry, serving local needs, mentoring, and worship."

Need a daily Bible reading plan? Drue's favorite is The Bible with Nicky and Pippa Gumbel.
