Summer Camp Open House

War Memorial Youth Center, 405 University Drive


Experience what summer camp is all about and get to know the team at the annual summer camp open house. Participants will have an opportunity to view all summer program offerings, create registration accounts, and tour the facility. 


Don’t forget to bring the little ones! There will be games and activities to give our future campers a glimpse of the fun they will have this summer in the City Beautiful.

Movies Under the Gables Moonlight - Featuring "Jurassic World Dominion"

Coral Gables War Memorial Youth Center Athletic Field, 405 University Drive


Two worlds collide as the epic saga that began with Jurassic Park comes full circle in “Jurassic World Dominion”. Presented in collaboration with the Coral Gables Art Cinema, this special event is hosted by the Community Recreation Department free of charge. Don’t forget to bring your lawn chairs and blankets. Popcorn and soft drinks will be available for sale. Closed captioning is available.

Bike & BBQ to Matheson Hammock Park

Sunday, April 21, 10 a.m.


Departing from the War Memorial Youth Center, 405 University Drive


Join the City of Coral Gables and Bike Walk Coral Gables for the annual Bike and BBQ, the most popular bike tour of the year. This 11-mile tour commences at the War Memorial Youth Center and ends with a BBQ-style picnic at Matheson Hammock Park. There will be live music, lawn games and refreshments. Participants can part ways on their own or join the police escorted group to ride back to the Youth Center. Event check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. and the tour will depart promptly at 10 a.m. 

 

This ride is recommended for riders ages 10 and older and for those that can maintain a minimum speed of 10 mph. Everyone must wear a helmet to participate. 

 

This ride is in partnership with Dade Heritage Trust and No Boundaries Sport, who will be available on site to inspect participant's bikes. Advanced registration is recommended.

Cooper and Moore Parks Community Meeting

The City of Coral Gables invites you to attend a community meeting to present and discuss the designs for the renovation of Nellie B. Moore Park, located at 202 Jefferson Drive and William & Leona Cooper Park, located at 4920 Washington Drive. The proposed park designs will be available for review and community input from Monday, April 15 through Monday, May 15, 2024. As a resident or stakeholder of this area, your input is valuable. We look forward to your participation.

Pétanque Exhibition Game

Sunday, April 28, 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.


Ingraham Park, 4751 Ingraham Terrace


Learn a new sport and join us for an afternoon exhibition game of pétanque. Pétanque is a traditional French lawn game perfect for all ages and playing abilities. This is a neighborhood event for the community to get together and play a new low-impact sport. The event and is free to the community and registration is not required.
