About the ReCoverCA Homebuyer Assistance Program

The ReCoverCA Homebuyer Assistance Program provides financial assistance up to $350,000 per household, designed to help qualifying individuals and families purchase a home outside of High or Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zones of California.

“There are no words to describe the toll that the Camp Fire in 2018 had on our community, families, businesses, and the beautiful landscape of Butte County,” said Butte County Supervisor Doug Teeter. “Five years may seem like a lot of time to many people, but when your life has been hit by a tragedy like this, life does not return to normal. Everyone in Butte County and all the other counties affected by wildfire have had to adapt, change, recover and rebuild. This funding is going to go a long way to helping people establish long-term housing and continue to heal.”

Key highlights of Program

  • Financial assistance of up to $350,000.
  • Forgiveness of financial assistance after five years.
  • Accessibility for applicants with varying credit histories.

"We invite all interested individuals to join us at the upcoming event to explore how the program can benefit you or someone else in your community," said Carolyn Sunseri, GSFA Marketing Director. "Imagine owning your own home, free from the worries and insurance costs of living in a high fire zone. This event is the first step towards making that dream a reality."
