Good News Family & Friends,

I heard an encouraging story this week and thought I'd start this newsletter by shareing this story with you. Enjoy!

GOD'S PROVIDENTIAL CARE

After church this past Sunday, Tom Haas told me he was running late for church (and was frustrated by that), but when he pulled into the parking lot, a man came out of nowhere from around the corner walking his bicycle. Tom said he knew that this man was homeless.

The man approached Tom and asked him if he had any water, that he was thirsty. The man asked Tom what was going on and Tom told him that a church meets here on Sunday mornings. Tom could tell that the man wasn't interested in coming inside, so Tom offered to step inside and get him a cup of water. Tom also noticed that there were a couple of the homeless care bags on the resource table. We built 100+ care bags during a worship service about a year, and we need to do it again. :)

Anyway, Tom picked up a care bag and delivered the cup of cold water and a care bag to this homeless gentleman. The man thanked Tom and they parted ways. When Tom told me that story, I realized that we had been completely out of care bags for the past several weeks. Well, this past week, I found a couple extras in my garage and brought them in that same morning that Tom (running late for church) encountered this man in need.

Isn't it amazing how God uses and weaves all of our life circumstances together in order to bless other people in just the right way at just the right time? It's a great reminder and comfort to know that, when we are submitted to Him, God is always using all things for His glory and our good.

“I have learned to kiss the wave that throws me against the Rock of Ages.” - Charles H. Spurgeon

Verse of the Week

“If you walk around with your nose in the air, you’re going to end up flat on your face. But if you’re content to be simply yourself, you will become more than yourself.” - Luke 14:11 (The Message)

VISION & VALUES

The vision of Good News Church GA is "to experience and express LOVE from God to others." The verse that undergirds our vision is Galatians 5:5b, “The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.” We value people, community, relationships, prayer, and Bible reading. We also value being able to be yourself. We’re all struggling with something, so there’s no need to pretend that we have it all together.

MISSION

The mission of Good News Church GA is "to connect with people and build relationships through community workshops, neighborhood-focused ministry, serving local needs, mentoring, and worship."

Need a daily Bible reading plan? Drue's favorite is The Bible with Nicky and Pippa Gumbel.
