What's Fresh at the Historic Lewes Farmers Market:
At the Market this Saturday, customers can find sweet corn, red, gold, and purple potatoes, green peppers, cherry and slicer tomatoes, eggplants, Asian pears, figs, cantaloupes, watermelons, honeydew melons, Canary melons, peaches, plums, nectarines, green beans, summer squashes, kale, rainbow chard, arugula, oysters, live crabs, hand-picked crab meat, crab cakes, grass-fed chicken, turkey, duck, beef, pork, honey, jams, mushrooms, freshly laid eggs, ice cream treats, locally roasted coffee and coffee drinks, kombucha, cold-pressed juices, fresh-baked breads, cakes, cookies, pies, and pastries made with fruit from vendors at the Market, herb, veggie, and flower plants, fresh-cut herbs, cut-flower bouquets, and much more.
The HLFM is unique in that it is producer-only—customers connect directly with the farmer who grew the produce and raised the animals to buy their local fruit, veggies, eggs, dairy, and meats. This Market is where the farmers are—the most farmers in any farmers market in the Delmarva!

HLFM's Food Pantry Purchase Program—
Help Your Favorite Farmers
and Local Food Pantries
| HLFM customers who want to help feed the local community with fresh local food may purchase produce, meats, milk, and other food from growers at the Market to donate to the local Food Pantries, including Epworth and Casa San Francisco Food Pantries, every Saturday. It’s so easy--all you have to do is let the vendor know what you want to donate or give $5, $10, $25 to the grower and ask them to put together a selection for the food pantries. The farmer gets your sale, and the food pantry gets the local food. We thank you for your generosity! | |
SNAP, WIC, SFMNP—

PARKING:
Parking is limited, so customers should walk or bike to the Market if they are able. The circle in front of the Fred Thomas Building at the foot of Dupont will be open for accessible drop-off and pick-up, with some spots available for accessible parking only. With the addition of new sidewalks to George H.P. Smith Park, one of the best places customers can park is at the main parking lot at the Lewes Elementary School (where the Market moves if it rains) at 820 Savannah Road. Please do not block any school buses. Please drive carefully when parking for the Market and watch for children, walkers, and bikers around the Park.

Do you come to the Market all the time and wonder what those folks in green aprons do? Well, you can find out by volunteering for the non-profit Historic Lewes Farmers Market, almost totally run by volunteers. There are two shifts for volunteers, so you only have to commit to a two-hour period. | If you are interested in volunteering at the Saturday Market, click the photo to fill out our interest form!
