Whether you’re creating an artwork of your own or looking at a masterpiece in a gallery, an encounter with a work of art has been proven to benefit our physical and mental health. An arts experience lowers stress, reduces anxiety, boosts memory, and empowers self-expression and creativity. I’m excited to announce that the Northville Art House has received an Inclusive Arts Fund grant from the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan, which will enable us to launch a series of art therapy-focused classes and workshops in 2024.
We are partnering with Amber Mazza Cunnings of Eucalyptus Counseling Services, based right here in Northville, to design a curriculum that will allow for self-exploration and expression, all with a goal of providing a creative outlet for healing. Our first session will begin on April 1, and is designed to provide a community of support for parents. Registration is now open. Thanks to the Inclusive Arts Fund grant, which covers 90% of the tuition for the class, the registration fee is only $20 for a 5-week session. Additional sessions will be announced throughout the year, so keep an eye on our website for more information.
We look forward to seeing you at the Art House soon!
