Dear Student Affairs,


We are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity to join the Transform_Ed: Research-Based Institute. This year-long program, part of the Provost Initiative, explores the intersection of the Future of Work and the Future of Education. Open to both Instructional Services and Student Affairs employees. This application is for Student Affairs employees. We are now recruiting participants for the Student Affairs Cohort 2. Hear from current participants here.


Mission:


Transform_Ed is a year-long research initiative aimed at anticipating the evolution and future impact of change across diverse academic and student affairs areas at Austin Community College District (ACC). The purpose is to analyze external factors impacting future program growth and student success at ACC to inform strategic decision-making.


Program Overview:


  • Research a problem, develop an innovative solution, and share it within your department/team.
  • The final results will be showcased at the 2025 Riverbat Experience.


Eligibility and Requirements:


  • Must be in a position to implement change with support from the supervisor and leadership team.
  • Submit an up-to-date cover letter and resume.
  • In good standing 
  • Not part of a Theory of Change Design Team or SA Fellow’s program.


Additional Details:


  • 7 spots are available for the AY24-25 Student Affairs cohort.
  • Supervisor approval is required.
  • Commitment: 40+ hours/month.
  • Travel required.
  • Monthly stipend of $1,000.
  • Applications are due by August 23, 2024.


Structure:


Teams will learn, research, and design proposals aimed at achieving the North Star goal of 70% completion by 2030. The program includes weekly team meetings, monthly professional development sessions, and self-directed research groups. Final presentations will be at the Fall 2025 Riverbat Experience Student Success Summit.

Selected applicants and their supervisors will be notified prior to the AY24-25 cohorts being unveiled publicly to the college at the Riverbat Experience 2.0 on Friday, September 13.
