Learn about the Guadalupe Community Air Project!

This past May, the Community Environmental Council gave peer-to-peer training to GLI partners on the Guadalupe Community Air Project. This project was created to give Guadalupe community members opportunities to share their experiences, concerns, and needs related to air quality. A local team of community members, scientists, and educators are measuring outdoor air quality within Guadalupe to bring data to the community. The information collected is shared in many ways, including on a bilingual website, at community meetings, and through school programs. Learn more about the Guadalupe Air Quality Project.

Project Spotlights

City of Lompoc Seeking Community Input on Rainwater Capture Feature for Local Park

The City of Lompoc is looking to add a rainwater capture feature to one of its local parks and is asking residents to help shape the project. Rainwater capture features offer multiple community benefits, including reducing local flooding and enhancing local natural beauty and green spaces, while also providing habitat for pollinators.

As part of this process, the city is seeking resident input. Residents are encouraged to complete the short, 10-minute survey using the links below. The survey is available in both English and Spanish. Resident feedback will play a key role in shaping the design of the rainwater capture feature that will benefit the community as a whole. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.

Input can be shared via this survey:

Growing Together: Garden Update

Collective Cultures Creating Change’s community garden continues to bloom with purpose and possibility! Over the past few weeks, we’ve made great strides together—harvesting fresh lettuce, chard, and kale, putting healthy food directly into the hands of our community. Our dedicated volunteers also completed the pathway borders, helping make the garden more accessible and organized for everyone. Huge thanks to all who’ve joined us for our recent clean-up days—your time and energy are deeply appreciated!

We’re also building connections beyond our garden. By collaborating with local garden groups, we’re exploring ways to share knowledge, support one another, and ensure all our green spaces can thrive.
