Nyungne Retreat
Buddhist Fasting Practice with
1000 Armed Chenrezig empowerment
Nyungne, "abiding in the fast," is a powerful traditional two-and-a-half-day retreat. It involves the keeping of strict vows; the second day is devoted to complete silence and fasting. The retreat involves recitations, mantras, and guided visualizations of Thousand-Armed Chenrezig, the Buddha of compassion. Nyungne is effective in healing, nurturing compassion, and purification of negative karma. |

Purification Retreat
with Vajrasattva empowerment
The Milwaukee teaching visit this spring, which focuses on purification and the Bodhisattva path, the path of great compassion, culminates with this special retreat for the removal of obstacles. Vajrasattva, the Buddha of Purification, purifies karma and removes obstacles to compassion, happiness and enlightenment.
Domo Geshe Rinpoche has said, "The turning point between someone who is just interested in Buddhism and someone who is a serious practitioner, is that the serious practitioner is very interested in purification practices." |
