You Are Invited!

Wachusett Greenways Annual

Gathering

Wednesday, June 12 at 5:30 PM

Trout Brook Reservation

320 Manning Street, Holden

Let’s celebrate on Wednesday, June 12, in person at Trout Brook Reservation, Manning Street, Holden. We’ll begin at 5:30 PM with a picnic, then offer our annual review and board election.

At 7 PM, we invite you to join WG directors for an evening walk following our picnic meeting.

No RSVP required, but we’d be glad to know you are coming for the picnic and fellowship. You can contact us here.

Bring your picnic supper, and we’ll provide dessert and beverages. All are welcome at the picnic pavilion, sunshine or rain.

Together we’ll mark Wachusett Greenways’ 29 years of connecting our communities with the Mass Central Rail Trail (MCRT).

2023 was a great year and 2024 is going strong. Construction is underway for two new miles of trail in Holden, volunteer maintenance teams are on the move this spring, and record numbers of trail visitors are arriving.

Exciting news!

Come and meet Scarlett Strom, our very first employee. Scarlett is a WPI student working as our new intern.

Together with our dedicated partners, we are completing the 30-mile section of the Mass Central Rail Trail through Sterling, West Boylston, Holden, Rutland, Oakham and Barre for EVERYONE.

Members Matter!

In May we sent invitations to renew your membership. Our heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who has already joined for 2024. We are so grateful for your generous support and for each encouraging note!

If you missed the invitation to join, or just haven’t sent your gift yet, we hope you’ll do it now. The suggested annual membership amount is $40 (but your gift in any amount makes you a member).

Together we continue to connect the communities of the Wachusett region and steward the central 30-mile section of the MCRT. Your additional gifts to Wachusett Greenways are invited for any of the following funds:

  • Mass Central Rail Trail Construction Fund—to help build the trail.
  • Edward P. Yaglou MCRT Maintenance Fund—to conduct heavier maintenance projects.
  • Mass Central Rail Trail Stewardship Endowment Fund—permanent fund to sustain Wachusett Greenways’ care for the trail.

All are welcome! You can contribute here or mail your gift to:

Volunteer!

You can help make the Mass Central Rail Trail shine and introduce others to our precious Central Mass outdoors. There's a place for everyone…mowing, clipping brush, maintaining drainage, working with your chainsaw, serving as a trail patroller, reaching out to others, and more.
