Earth Day - April 22

Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held on April 22, 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally by EARTHDAY.ORG (formerly Earth Day Network) including one billion people in more than 193 countries. The official theme for 2024 is "Planet vs. Plastics."

Earth Day is a good day to visit Our Lady to clean individual burial plots, pick up candy wrappers, bottle tops or unsightly trash visible in the cemetery. Participating in Earth Day gives everyone the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful wildflowers in bloom while doing your part in helping clear the cemetery grounds in the spirit of family and community.
