Home Show at Patriots Place in Foxboro, MA this coming weekend. Check out our calendar of events for more information.
Our next big show will be the
RIBA Home, Flower & Garden Show from April 5-9th, at the Providence Convention Center where we will have our biggest exhibit to date with the largest variety of accessibility products. Stop by and meet some of the manufacturers who will be coming to assist us and answer your questions.

Job Summary
Accessibility Installation Technician
Job Purpose:
Serves customers by installing and servicing and repairing systems and products. These products are accessibility and mobility products such as elevators, stairlifts, dumbwaiters, vertical platform lifts, wheelchair ramps and grab bars.
Responsibilities and Duties
Accessibility Installation Technician Job Duties:
- Serves existing accounts by analyzing work orders; completing daily install/service schedule as directed; investigating complaints; conducting tests; resolving problems.
- Establishes service by studying system requirements; gathering components and parts; completing installation; performing acceptance tests.
- Maintain necessary date and records for current and future reference using sales tools provided such as Outlook, High Rise, Base Camp, Harvest and any others that are adopted by Home Healthsmith.
- Maintains rapport with customers by examining complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; recommending system improvements.
- Keeps company equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
- Documents service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records. Providing before and after pictures as requested for each install job.
- Maintains customer confidence by keeping service information confidential.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications and on-going training programs.
- Handles on-call schedule as needed and directed.
- Help in organization of shop; maintaining cleanliness, making sure all tools and equipment is put back daily.
- Participates in company trade shows and events as needed.
- Ability to load and unload equipment - up to 75 lbs. unassisted from fleet vehicle and climb ladders.
- Works safely and responsible to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials/equipment and cleans up installation and service debris at client's homes.
Qualifications and Skills
- Have basic finished & framing carpentry skills, dry wall skills, high and low voltage electrical skills, control circuit knowledge, the ability to install electrical conduit and wiring. Have mechanical skills that involve assembling elevator guide rails and other related components. Ability to read technical drawings and manufacturer specifications. A basic understanding of how different fastening systems work as well as a broad knowledge of different types of tools and how to use them
- Has a valid driver's license.
- Have basic computer skills.
- Ability to operate fleet vehicles in a safe manner at all times.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools.
