July 10
"Celebrating the Love of Jesus and Mary Magdalene"That we have a newly discovered gospel that comes from Mary Magdalene and her community that changes Christian history. We will celebrate and study the Gospel of Mary Magdalene the entire month of July for our Mary Magdalene Festival. We will share about our first book group that studied Cynthia Bourgeualt's fantastic book,
The Meaning of Mary Magdalene
and the ideas that Jesus and Mary Magdalene love for one another is the heart of Christianity. She represents the divine feminine that was taken out and it is past time to reinstate her, in our history, our religious imaginations, and as a way to celebrate the divine feminine too long left out of Christianity and western culture. As we celebrate Mary and Jesus and the love they shared we are also invited to re-imagine and honor our own sexual intimate love relationships. Join us as we celebrate human sexuality and intimacy as high spiritual practice.
July 17
"Anima Mundi the Soul of the World and Mary Magdalene"
"Jesus said, 'Every nature, every modeled form, every creature, exists in and with each other,'" are the opening lines of the newly discovered Gospel of Mary Magdalene. This is a profoundly important and deeply contemplative document found in several pieces in different locations and finally compiled by wonderful editors, like Dr. Karen King and Rev. Dr. Cynthia Bourgeault. We will consider the term anima mundi, meaning the soul of the world and how Plato taught about the spirit being diffused all though nature. The idea that ethereal spirit animates all matter the way the soul animates human beings is an ancient idea whose time has come back. We will reflect on the mystical ideas taught and modeled by Jesus and Mary Magdalene. This is urgent during our ecologic crisis. In the 1960's Lovelock coined the Greek term Gaia. Gaia is the ecologic idea that the earth is a living being, an interconnected web of life, an eco-system of oneness. Just as we have a physical body, we have a soul body that is in and apart of the whole of God's cosmos. We are in and apart of the body of God. At Church for our Common Home we often sing Solaris beautiful song, 'Every Piece' with these wise words "Every piece of this world is a part of the whole, everything that I see is connected to me. What I give you is a gift to me too, it is all one life all the way through." Join us as we contemplate the ancient mystism of Jesus and Mary Magdalene, Plato, and Lovelock. We are ONE!
July 24
Jesus and Mary Magdalene's Vegetarian Feast Day. The Catholic church celebrates Saint Mary Magdalene once a year and her feast day this year is July 22.
She is the woman who was present during Jesus' ministry, including the crucifixion and the resurrection. We will have a vegetarian dinner party in honor of our teachers, Jesus and Mary Magdalene. The early church always served a meal with worship and we are following in this holy tradition in our new home Church for our Common Home. Jesus and Mary Magdalene made everyone welcome at the table and this the religious practice we follow. We will also reflect on vegetarianism as a way to contribute to the healing of the earth and a way to teach about sharing our resources with everyone equally on the planet. We do not want to contribute to the cruelty of animals in our current animal raising and slaughtering practices. As we share in preparing our communal meal we will intentionally make it in love. Collectively we will pray over our food as we give thanks for the earth who provides us with physical nourishment. Please bring a vegetarian side dish to share or anything to contribute to our salad bar. We will provide lettuce and other offerings from our organic Church for our Common Home vegetable garden for the salad bar.
July 31 "Dreams, Visions and Anointing Ritual " Mary Magdalene had a vision that was to change history. She was the first to see the resurrected Christ. In the ancient world people fully embraced the sacred phenomena and power of dreams and visions and sacred rituals to access the holy. It is past time we celebrate the traditions of the early church where dreams, visions and rituals were honored as portals to God.This service will invite dream and vision sharing and close with a healing anointing ritual.

Mission Statement
Encouraging awe of creation and the cosmos, we explore the visual and performing arts, dreams, wisdom teachings of Christ-Sophia in the Bible and newly found gospels, prayer, social activism, and relationships as we work to care for our common home Mother Earth, in a new kind of local and global community. We are a home church with people around the world via the Internet, exploring a new religious story for our time. Vision
Our vision is to spiritually awaken and raise our consciousness about the sacred nature of all life and our interconnectedness in order to come together as a human family and
care
for our common home and love God/dess with all our hearts, souls and minds and creation as ourselves.
Sending love and blessings to our friends of Church for our Common Home,
