Remembering Larry Poland
We want to honor a dear friend and fellow ministry leader in Hollywood, Dr. Larry Poland, who passed away on May 3rd at the age of 83 from a sudden stroke. Larry founded Mastermedia International in 1985 and led it until 7 years ago when he retired and moved with his wife, Donna Lynn, to Wheaton Illinois. He lived a full and eternally significant life, serving the entertainment community, and HPN celebrates Larry's life and his far reaching ministry in Hollywood. HPN partnered with Mastermedia and Larry in many ways, through giving out Bibles, building the community through service and prayer, and with Mastermedia’s annual Media Prayer Breakfasts that began in 2004. We are proud to have walked together with Larry in praying for industry professionals.

HPN SUMMIT
Please be praying for our 2nd HPN Local Chapter Director’s (LCD) Summit this August 3-5th in Hollywood! In 2016 we hosted our first Summit and 60 Local Chapter Directors came from all over the world to gather for a 3 day missions trip, praying for our people, meeting one another and leaving with a vision for the importance of praying for our world’s entertainment leaders and professionals. Please pray that this August God brings together the perfect group of LCDs for our exciting Summit, for HPN to continue growing internationally, and for an amazing and life-changing time together in Hollywood for our LCDs!

Jennifer Garner is a great actress who could have become a farmer, a chef, or even a minister if she hadn’t decided to pursue acting. But we want to praise God that Jennifer had faith in Him and chose to live and work in the entertainment industry. She is making an eternal difference in her relationships as she works and lives her life with excellence and integrity. We want to Praise God for professionals, whether they are just breaking in, or have a global impact, and have chosen to put Jesus first in their lives, relationships and careers!

Climbers for Christ
Sunday, May 28th marks the 21st Annual “Climbers Day of Prayer”! Who would have thought that even mountain climbers have a Day of Prayer? We highlight this because many Hollywood professionals love to climb and even HPN has a group of Christian professionals who love to climb and hike! So, let’s thank the Lord that our climbing HPN members can all pray together on 5/28 with other climbers! climbersforchrist.org

WGA Writers Strike
The Writers Strike continues and HPN is responding by mobilizing volunteers to bring free water bottles to the picket lines at the studios all over LA and to offer prayer for any interested picketers. If you are in LA and would like to volunteer, just email us at info@hpnemail.org. If you are out of town, please pray for the personal and spiritual needs of the striking writers as they walk the picket lines! And please pray for us as we practically show God's love to the thousands of writers during this vulnerable and difficult time in our industry.

Prayer for Victims
In response to our prayer request last month for Armie Hammer and for any other people we’ve asked you to pray for in the past who have been accused of abuse in Hollywood, we want you to know that our hearts are broken for the victims of the abuse, misconduct, and injustice that happens in our industry. And we would like to ask you to join us in praying for the vulnerable and for those taken advantage of, exploited, abused, and mistreated in Hollywood. It happens too often and we want the Lord to stop the wrongful actions and to protect innocent people from harm. Our hearts go out to all the victims of sexual abuse and assault here and we ask for your prayers to stop these horrible acts! Thank you so much! If you or someone you know needs prayer regarding a situation where any mistreatment or abuse has occurred, please EMAIL US so we can be praying for you!

Jamie Fox Released from Hospital! | Jamie Foxx’s daughter Corrine, announced that her dad is out of the hospital and is even playing pickleball!~ Corrine noted how the press got a bit dramatic about her father’s medical emergency and that he is doing OK. So, let’s pray for the people who write what we read in the press or what we hear on the news, and continue to pray for Jamie's complete health and thank God for His faithfulness. | |

The Tony Awards
The 76th annual Tony Awards is celebrating the best in Broadway Theatre on June 11th. However, because of the Writer's Strike, it can not have any written material on the show. The producers of the Tony’s requested a waiver in the ruling, due to the immediacy of the airing, but the WGA denied their request. So, the Tonys will have to be a non-scripted show this year! Lin Manuel Miranda was asked to write a number for the show but he stopped writing once the strike began on May 2nd. Let’s pray for the writers to negotiate a fair deal with the producers so that thousands of writers can get back to work, and that more excellent stories can continue to be written and told throughout the world.

MAJOR MERGER Alert in Faith-Based Broadcasting!
Great American Media, started by Candace Cameron Bure, Danika McKellar and Bill Abbott, and Pure Flix Entertainment, have merged. Let’s pray for Bill Abbot, who came from Crown Media, owner of the Hallmark Channel, to become CEO of Great American Media, and Ravi Ahuja, Chairman of Global Television Studios and Corporate Development for Sony Pictures, that owns Pure Flix. They are planning for this to be the largest faith-based and family movie channel available and we want to invite the Lord to lead in this merger. Let's also be praying for a new wave of creativity, diversity, and storytelling in faith-based children's and adult entertainment. We want to engage in stories that reflect the beauty and truth of God's Kingdom!

We want to celebrate our dear friend and HPN member, actor Hiram Murray, who is co-starring in a new film, with HPN member Kellen Lutz. Come Out Fighting is a Lionsgate film that depicts the true story of a specialized squad of U.S. Army soldiers in World War II. And we are proud of our friends who are featured in this military adventure feature film!

Actors Co-op Presents: Tornado
APRIL 21 - MAY 28, 2023
Set in the aftermath of the devastating 2012 Oklahoma tornado, Jade, a college student at Oklahoma Baptist University, and Becca, a corporate lawyer from New York City, have come to volunteer in the clean-up efforts. When a Chick-fil-A lunch truck arrives to offer free lunch to the volunteers, their vastly different cultural perspectives clash head-on, and they must struggle to set aside their differences for the good of the tornado victim they hope to serve.
