|
Four teams from Banner, Shepley/Bulfinch, Sundt/DRP, Stark/Sturgeon and UA Mortar Board worked along side neighbors on four clean up projects in Jefferson Park. Manpower, coffee, bagels, pastries, gloves, equipment and truck usage was provided. Neighbor Erin Posthumus lead a bufflegrass eradication team which collected 14 bags of bufflegrass. One team worked again on the 1747 N Highland condemned property. They removed cacti and brush from the north side. The remaining two teams worked on properties for which residents had asked help. Jefferson Park volunteers, Joan, Kathy, Erin, and Laurel-Heather worked at each site. JPNA lead organizer, Lisa, did a splendid job of coordinating teams, tools, water, and motivation.

Seeking old photos, oral histories
|
This newsletter has featured images which document the history of the Jefferson Park neighborhood. The Friends of Jefferson Park, Inc will continue to research and seek photos from private sources that illustrate the deep historic and cultural ties of this neighborhood. The Jefferson Park website has a slide show of some of the images collected so far.
http://www.jeffersonpark.info/history.html
With the donations of oral histories and photos from many neighbors and the archives of the AZ Historical Society it is hoped the future will bring a book. If you can contribute or wish to participate in the project, please contact Joan Daniels, 520-300-1980 or
