I opened Lakes Psychiatric Center 8 years ago this month. We started with me as the only prescriber, 10 incredible therapists and Rachel as Office Manager. Then in the past 3 years my staff has grown from 13 to over 60! Soon we will have 5 prescribers, 19 therapists, 13 nurses, 15 nursing assistants, 4 drivers, and 5 administrative staff working in 5 locations. This past year we expanded Lakes Depression Center and added Lakes DBT Center plus we just renovated the original LPC location. We also opened a satellite location, Looking Glass Counseling, in Vernon MI where we offer therapy and DBT as well. My work with Greenbrook TMS continues in Lakes Therapy Center. I am humbled and proud to be working with so many excellent clinicians and staff.

I am thrilled to be able to offer so many various services to help as many people as possible. We are accepting new patients in all of our programs so let us know how we can help you or those you care about.

Try Breathing Meditation
Breathing meditation could work for you if you give it a chance. Take a few minutes right now to sit comfortably and focus on the sensations of your breath — breathing in and breathing out. Let any thoughts that come into your mind drift by without getting involved in them. This takes practice, but it’s worthwhile. Enjoy the stillness.
Take a Tech Time-out
Many of us spend our free time focused on technology, and we have less time for the habits and activities that make us feel good and build resilience. To take a tech time out, start by tracking the amount of non-work hours you spend on the phone, computer, or watching TV for one week. You may be surprised! Screen time can be addictive. If you discover you’re spending more time in front of a screen than you are being active, make a plan to replace some of that viewing time with “doing” time.
