Hi Friends!
Cake season is upon us! In the next few months, there are cake shows all over the US. Bridal shows are in full force. And then there's Valentine's Day....meaning that it is a great time to be a decorator! I am excited to say that my Sugar Calendar now includes many international events. Wherever you are, I'm trying to make sure you know about the events near you. On a personal note, thank you to everyone for your concern and notes after my recent very odd visit to the ER. I now call that day the "Evil Bleed". To catch everyone up, I had a (yea! You're 50!) routine colonoscopy on Dec. 20th. A small, non cancerous polyp was removed. Normally, if you experience problems, it will be within a day or two. But I'm odd. So sixteen days later, I wake up to the Evil Bleed - something I do not wish on my worst enemy. The ER doctors and nurses were wonderful and I quickly had an IV in both arms and was being put into ICU when a bed became available. Luckily, a GI specialist was able to come into the ER and decided to try to repair the damage there - without me having to undergo surgery. The sweet doc got me all fixed up and I even went home that same night! People could look at that situation and think that life is awful or unfair or that their life is tragic. I choose to think I am lucky. Lucky I was home. Lucky I got a great doctor. Lucky that no permanent damage was done. Life is all about how you view what happens to you. There is no "Woe is me" in me! I am blessed and I know it. Thank you again for your kind thoughts! After nearly three months at home, I will be out on the sugar road again. Look for me at any of the events listed below. Ruth |

Join me and James Roselle, Jessie Lopez, Earlene Moore and Ximena Sempertegui as we demonstrate the coolest and newest techniques in sugar. James is demonstrating his Rose, Jessie a crawfish pot, Earlene Valentine's boxes, Ximena something for babies and I am going to show dimensional brush embroidery and a tiara! |

Ruth will be teaching classes at Michelle Hopps' darling shop. On Monday night, we will make the Dessert Fairy. On Tuesday, Ruth will teach Dimensional Brush Embroidery (with a brand new class project!), Bling, Bows and Fantasy Flowers and Cocoa Butter Painting. The classes are small and intimate, so you know you'll have an awesome experience! |
