SC2C's Impact in Dolan and Rippowam Schools 

We are thrilled to announce our upcoming presentation to the Teaching and Learning Committee of the Stamford Board of Education on Tuesday, January 9th at 6:30, virtually. This presentation will showcase the impactful work happening in Dolan and Rippowam Schools, made possible through the joint efforts of Stamford Public Schools, Stamford Cradle to Career and the support of the Full-Service Community Schools Grant. We believe in the power of education and collaboration to transform lives, and we look forward to sharing our progress with the committee.

January: Blood Donor Awareness Month 

January is Blood Donor Awareness Month, and we encourage all our community members to consider making a life-saving contribution. Every donation has the potential to make a significant impact. If you are interested in participating, you can schedule an appointment for the Red Cross Blood Drive at Union Baptist Church, located at 805 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, CT 06905. Saint Joseph Parenting Center

Stronger Families, Brighter Futures

Our featured community partner of the month is the Saint Joseph Parenting Center (SJPC), a nonsectarian, nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening families at risk of child abuse and neglect through parent education and community support programs. Alarming statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reveal that 1 in 7 children experiences child abuse every year. 

SJPC takes a proactive approach by focusing on parent education. The center provides a range of parenting education classes conducted in both English and Spanish. Additionally, they provide training in relationship skills and employee readiness to empower parents in promoting positive parenting and decreasing child abuse and neglect.

Virtual Legislative 101 Workshop

Wednesday, January 10, 2024

From 9:30 AM to 11 AM



This training will provide the knowledge and skills to:

• understand the stages of the legislative process, including how bills are raised;

• submit testimony;

• identify key committees for maternal and child health;

• identify points of public influence; and

• understand the opportunities and challenges for influencing lawmakers.
